About Me
Hi, I’m Heather.
Heather Schibi, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health & Family Nurse Practitioner
I’m a double board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Opal Meadow Psychiatric Care.
I began my career in 2016 in primary care and family practice. Through that work, I saw firsthand how closely physical and mental health are connected—and how difficult it can be for patients to access psychiatric care when they need it. That experience led me to pursue additional training in behavioral health and ultimately become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Today, I bring both backgrounds together to provide psychiatric care that considers the whole person, not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms.
My Approach to Care
I believe you know yourself best.
My role is to listen, bring my clinical knowledge and experience to the conversation, and work alongside you to find a treatment plan that feels right for you.
My family practice background gives me a unique perspective when it comes to psychiatric medication management. I consider not only your mental health symptoms, but also your physical health, other medical conditions, medications, potential side effects, and your personal goals.
Education is also an important part of my approach. I want you to understand your condition and your options so you can feel informed, comfortable with your treatment, and confident advocating for your own health.
Who I Work With
I enjoy caring for adults across different stages of life, with a particular interest in young adults and those navigating life transitions.
I have spent much of my career working in collegiate health and understand the unique challenges that can come with new independence, college, career changes, relationships, and other pivotal periods of adulthood.
I also especially enjoy working with people who want a psychiatric provider who considers their physical health alongside their mental health, including those managing chronic health conditions or taking other medications.
Whether you're facing a new challenge or have been struggling for some time, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and involved in your care.
Beyond the Office
I’m a Cincinnati native, wife, and mom to two girls, with 2 dogs rounding out our family. Outside of Opal Meadow, I continue to work part-time as a Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in a university setting.
When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, learning new things, and making memories with my family. I value experiences, connection, and opportunities to serve others—values that influence both my personal life and the way I approach patient care.
